MAINTENANCE SUGGESTIONS

Each use

Move all valves and slides.

Weekly

Wash your mouthpiece with lukewarm water and dishwashing liquid.

Wipe old lubricant off your valves/hand slide and re lubricate them. Clean the valve casings/hand slide tubes with a cloth and cleaning rod, then lubricate and reassemble.

Lubricate rotor valves with a drop of oil on the bearings.

Monthly

Grease tuning slides with tuning slide grease. (Never use Vaseline!)

Quarterly

Bath your instrument. This video explains cleaning your brass instrument very clearly. We recommend using quality, synthetic lubricants like J. Meinlschmidt, Yamaha or Ultrapure

Bi-annually

Have your instrument chemically/ultrasonically cleaned. At WindCraft Repair we do this at every service.

Important:

• Keep everything clean. The slides, valves, valve casings, bore and finish.

• Never use pliers to try to unstick any moving parts, only hand pressure.
